Coach Chris Giffin was hired in the spring of 2022 to be just the second boys basketball head coach in the history of Lawrence North High School.

Coach Giffin was the head girls basketball coach at Lawrence North from 2012-2022, compiling a record of 201-60 (.770 win percentage).  The Wildcats saw unprecedented success in his ten years as head coach.  LN won five MIC titles, four Marion County tournament championships, five sectional championships, four regional championships, two semi-state championships, and the 2020 IHSAA state championship.  The team produced seven 20-win seasons, nine Indiana All-Stars, and 15 Division-I players.

Prior to coaching the girls team, he spent 10 years in various capacities with the LN boys basketball program under legendary Hall of Fame Coach Jack Keefer.  He spent one season as the head freshman coach, winning the prestigious Marion County championship in 2004.  Following that, he served four years as the head JV coach, compiling a 67-11 record.  He was Coach Keefer's top varsity assistant the last two years prior to leading the girls program.

During the 2022-23 season, his first year at the helm of the boys team, Coach Giffin led a young group to a record of 18-8.  Currently in year two, Coach Giffin led the Wildcats to the Marion County championship, the 11th Marion County title in school history.  In the process, Coach Giffin became the first coach in the 100+ year history of the Marion County tournament to win a girls championship and a boys championship. The team is currently 19-2 and ranked #4 in the state of Indiana heading into the last two weeks of the regular season.

An honors graduate of Ben Davis High School, Giffin was a three-sport athlete who played tennis, basketball, and baseball.  He was named a member of the Indiana All-State doubles tennis team in 1995-96.  While in college at Indiana University, Chris served as the manager of the basketball team for three seasons under Hall of Fame Coach Bob Knight.  Following his graduation with a B.S. in secondary social studies education, Chris became a grad assistant coach for Coach Knight at Texas Tech University from 2003-2004.

Chris is currently in his 19th year of teaching in the Special Education department at Lawrence North High School.  He and his wife, Jenica, have two girls, Bailee and Emersyn, and a son, Parker.
