Head Softball Coach Matt Marino

Prior to being named the head coach in 2017, Coach Marino was an assistant coach for four years.  Matt is a long time Lawrence Township resident who had two daughters play softball for the Wildcats.

In six seasons as the Wildcat head coach (no 2020 season due to COVID), Coach Marino has an overall record of 96-67 with a record of 28-10 in the MIC and three IHSAA sectional championships.  In 2017, he guided the the team to their first IHSAA sectional championship in 19 years.  The team also won the sectional title in 2021 and 2023.  In 2022 and 2023, the team won back-to-back MIC conference titles, going undefeated in the MIC both seasons.  The 2023 team set a school record for victories in a season (22).  
 
Marino is a Richmond High School graduate where he played football, basketball, and baseball.  He later graduated from Ball State University.  Matt has over 26 years of coaching various sports which includes 22 years of softball coaching.
 
Matt has a passion for softball and Lawrence Township.  In 2021, he received the prestigious John Bosco award, recognizing him for his many years volunteering for CYO sports at St. Simon in Lawrence Township.
