As students prepare for their four-year plan to complete high school and begin to plan for post-secondary education, Lawrence North assists students to consider all areas of achievement and careers as possible courses of study. College Credit, Advanced Placement (AP), Advanced College Project (ACP), International Baccalaureate (IB), and Lyceum (GT) curricular options are available in core academic subject areas. Vocational offerings are available in collaboration with the McKenzie Career Center, where students learn skills valued in today’s job market. Lawrence North students can also receive support through alternative programs at the MSDLT Diploma Plus Secondary Academy .
Interdisciplinary courses are offered at Lawrence North, creating opportunities for contextual relevance in instruction. Another initiative has been to implement programs facilitating inclusion of special needs students with general education students. As a comprehensive high school, Lawrence North offers over seven hundred and fifty varied course choices reflecting a broad spectrum of college prep, academic, vocational, English as a New Language and Special Education, to allow all students varied education experiences and preparation.
