CUTTING EDGE EDUCATION

Lawrence North is a Four Star School and has been recognized as an Indiana Blue Ribbon School. Our emphasis is on student achievement, lifelong learning, and building a sense of community among all stakeholders. The quality of academics can be seen in the outstanding students and teachers within each department. The Immersion program, participation in the International Baccalaureate program, and other quality academics make Lawrence North an exemplary school.

A curriculum of over 750 courses reflecting a broad spectrum of college prep, academic vocational, English as a New Language and special education disciplines is available. A block-eight schedule with ninety-two minute class periods and alternating Red and Green days creates a two-week cycle. College credit, Advanced Placement (AP), Advanced College Project (ACP) and Lyceum (GT) curricular options are available in core academic subject areas. The Advanced Learning Experience (ALE) offers students an opportunity to extend their learning beyond the building.

A variety of fine and performing arts, communications, athletic programs and clubs provide opportunities for Lawrence North students to have personal and organizational experiences.

The vision statement, "Achieving Excellence, Building Character, Serving Others," is a capsule of the beliefs of the school. From the banners in the hallways, classroom practices, and the parents who volunteer, Lawrence North High School is about building a caring and learning community. Throughout the school house there is evidence of the belief that it truly is "All About Kids."

“Our school supports our district-wide, award winning
Caring About Character initiative in which our students are taught and
encouraged to follow our Lifeskills for Building Character.”
